Clark Real Estate

Clark is a township in southern Union County covering an area of 4.5 square miles and a population of approximately 15,000 people. The township is bordered by eight municipalities: Scotch Plains to the west, Westfield to the northwest, Cranford to the north, Winfield and Linden to the northeast, Rahway to the east, Woodbridge to the south and Edison to the southwest. It is located at Exit 135 of the Garden State Parkway.

Named for Abraham Clark, a signer of the Declaration of Independence, what is now the township of Clark was settled late in the 17th century. The first mill was built on the Rahway River in the late 1700s, and for a time in the 19th century the American Felt Company was active in Clark.

The Clark Public School District comprises of two elementary schools, one middle school and the Arthur L. Johnson High School. Students from Garwood attend the high school as part of a sending/receiving relationship with Garwood.

Clark offers a suburban setting with one of its main attractions being a picturesque reservoir with fishing piers and walking paths surrounding it. For recreation, there is the Oak Ridge Golf Course, a county-owned facility on the border with Edison. There is also a popular community pool. Clark is near Rahway River Park but also has its share of small parks throughout the township, including part of the Ash Brook Reservation which has been described as a haven for golfers and bird-watchers.
