When my partner and I first met with Jackie because we were planning to move from New Hope, Pa to the Metuchen area, we had not even sold our house at that point. Little did we know that it would take about 9 more months to sell in Pa so that we could seriously look in NJ.

Throughout that entire time, Jackie worked patiently and professionally with us, providing counseling and occasionally some much needed comic relief when we thought we would never be able to move on with our lives.

Everything worked out very well for us and we are now happily living in a great house in Metuchen, NJ. Jackie's guidance through the process was outstanding at all times, she made us feel like we were her only clients (even though we knew full well that we were not!). She gave us very personalized attention and carefully advised us when she felt we were headed towards a bad decision. I have and will continue to recommend Jackie whenever I can and even though I hope never to move again would unquestionably use her professional services again.

The Borough of Watchung is located in Somerset County, situated between two ridges of the Watchung Mountains. The borough covers an area of 6.2 square miles and is bordered by both Morris and Union Counties and has a population of approximately 6,000 people. Watchung is located to the east of Warren.

The name Watchung comes from the Lenni Lenape Native Americans, meaning ‘high hills’. It is from the first ridge of the Watchung Mountains that George Washington surveyed the British troops in Perth Amboy, many miles to the southeast. The area was originally settled by the Dutch in the 1600s.

Watchung from the 1900s was a semi-rural small community of about 3,200 people. Even as late as the 1960s, it was common for residents to know one another by name, with few moving in or out of the town. The 1967 Plainfield riots caused an exodus of the large upper-middle class population who moved to the Watchung Hills area, including Watchung. The town now has a reputation for wealth and large contemporary homes are to be found among the mansions and farms houses of former times. Today, Watchung is a beautiful community with spacious and wooded properties spreading from the Watchung Lake to the center of town. The area is popular with hikers and nature lovers who roam old Indian trails in the nearby Watchung Reservation.

Students are educated in Watchung at Bayberry Elementary School and Valley View Middle School. Watchung’s high school students attend Watchung Hills Regional High School in Warren, a blue ribbon school. Students from Warren and Long Hill Township also attend this high school.

The town is within easy commuting distance of New York City, which takes about 45 minutes by car on Interstate 78. Newark Airport is about 15 minutes away and a bus service to New York City is also available nearby.
