Piscataway Schools
Piscataway Schools serve a suburban community with a cosmopolitan feel, a community that is home to the Livingston and Busch campuses of Rutgers University. Piscataway is 19 square miles and populated by 50,000 people who represent Caucasian, African-American, Asian, Indian, and Hispanic cultures. The Piscataway School District serves over 7,000 students in pre-school through 12. In addition to its high school, there are four schools that educate students in kindergarten through third grade, two intermediate schools serving grades 4-5, and three middle schools for students in grades six, seven, and eight. The District operates a grant-funded pre-school for 72 financially-eligible children and a tuition-based program. Student achievement is the major priority; the district prides itself on its creative approach to learning and its emphasis upon helping each student to discover his or her potential.
