North New Jersey
North New Jersey is defined in different ways. However, many consider it to be all points north of Interstate 195, others consider it to be the counties of Sussex, Passaic, Bergen, Warren, Hudson, Morris, Essex, Hunterdon and Union. Northern New Jersey is theoretically the area within the New York City sphere of influence.
Northern New Jersey has more urbanized areas with a mix of wealthy New York City commuters and working class who are ethnically and politically diverse. It is what most of the United States think of when they hear "New Jersey" to see it portrayed on television. Diversity is a hallmark of North New Jersey, as it is for the entire State.
Bergen County is the most populous county in the State of New Jersey. Bergen County currently ranks as the number 21 among the highest-income counties in the United States.
Forbes magazine backs up real estate in north New Jersey in 2006 when it became the Most Expensive housing area in the US.
